Proud Panther Artists

Congratulations to our fourth graders for their amazing work during our study of Vincent Van Gogh's "Sunflowers". Their artwork will be displayed in the Pasadena ISD Administration building along with other grade levels and Elementary schools.

Vincent Van Gogh's "Sunflowers"

Vincent Van Gogh is known for a series of paintings titled “Sunflowers”. Students replicated his painting using oil pastels and crayons. They learned about organic and geometric shapes found in nature and in a man-made environment. They were urged to keep their colors lively and bright, which meant avoiding browns and blacks.

Kindergarten Pumpkin Sunsets

Nature sometimes gives us amazing views, vibrant colors, and stimulating illusions. Sunsets and sunrises are one of nature’s many colorful canvases. The warm glowing colors in the sky can easily be reproduced on paper.

Our Kindergarten students learned about sunrises and sunsets and the colors they make in the sky. They also learned about what happens to objects as they are introduced to the sunlight. Crayons were used to draw and color the pumpkins, and watercolors were used to paint the skies. The crayon repels the watercolors and allows for the crayons to show through the watercolors.
